⭐️Five stars for @jajasafricanhairbraiding which is now showing at @arenastage! This hilarious, vibrant, Tony Award winning play explores the every day lives of a tight-knit group of women who work at Jaja’s hair braiding salon in the heart of Harlem. ⁣

Prior to the performance, I had the opportunity to attend a panel discussion with the creator of the play, @jjbioh. The discussion focused on the importance of the CROWN Act, which was created to end hair discrimination. ⁣
⁣
If you’re looking for something fun to do in the city, I highly recommend seeing this funny and inspiring play. Get your tickets soon as the last performance is October 13th!⁣

Did you know you can explore DC in all its glory by water taxi? That’s right, @cityexperiences, is a water taxi service that takes you all along the Potomac River! With four pickup and drop off locations, you can bop around town and visit @officialgeorgetowndc, @thewharfdc, @visitalexva, and the @nationalharbor. I loved my first experience traveling from⁣
Georgetown to the Wharf. We had a front row seat to the Lincoln Memorial, the @kennedycenter, and beautiful Virginia! If you’re looking for something fun and different to do in the city, I’d definitely recommend a ride on @cityexperiences water taxi! 🌊🚕⁣

👒 I’ve always been a lover of bold statement

👒 I’ve always been a lover of bold statement accessories! So while I was in Charleston last weekend, I ventured to @marshandmagnoliachs to custom make my own hat. Marsh and Magnolia is located in the heart of King Street and specializes in making custom hats. I had the best afternoon working with their incredible team who patiently worked with me to design my colorful hat. I chose a pink felt hat, that was then hand shaped into a heart-shaped top. Once this process was complete, I accessorized with ribbons, pins, beads, and my favorite….. branding my initials! I absolutely love the design of my hat and can’t wait to wear it around DC. If you find yourself in Charleston, I highly recommend visiting @marshandmagnoliachs!⁣

While in the Holy City, my friend Lisa, @occasionallyluxe, curated the most beautiful and picturesque photo shoot with @sarahelainephoto, for me and my friends! It was so much fun working with Meredith from @thepinkfiggy whose vintage pink convertible helped to make the afternoon so unique and FUN!! The car was also decked out in a beautiful bouquet of flowers created by Jen from @vintagerosefloraldesigns. I had a blast working with these fabulous women who helped to make our girls trip to Charleston so memorable! 🚗🌸🌈✨⁣

🌈 One of the most charming aspects of Charleston are the pastel colored homes that are sprinkled throughout the city! ⁣

My favorite area in Charleston to see these vibrant homes is Rainbow Row. Rainbow Row is a block of 13 colorful homes that were built during the Revolutionary War and are also the longest cluster of Georgian homes in the USA! ⁣

It goes without saying, that as soon as I saw this Rainbow Row clutch from @thetinytassel, I had to add it to my collection as it represents the uniqueness and beauty of Charleston so well! 🌈🏡✨⁣
